First PSPE Lecture on 25 April

Please already save the dates of the first edition of the Political Science and Political Economy Lecture Series (PSPE Lecture Series).

The Cologne Center for Comparative Politics (CCCP) and the Excellence Cluster ECONtribute (ECONtribute: Markets & Public Policy EXC 2126) jointly host a lecture series on Political Science and Political Economy in 2023/2024, showcasing research on political economy, institutions and behavior by internationally leading researchers from top departments in Germany and abroad.

  • 25 April 2023, 14 – 15.30: Heike Klüver (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) on "Campaign Finance Laws, Lobbying, and Inequalities in Representation: Evidence from Citizens United"
  • 16 May 2023, 14 – 15.30: Maria Thürk (University of Basel) on "Hitting the Sweet Spot? The Electoral Consequences of Supporting Minority Governments."
  • 20 June 2023, 14 – 15.30: Achim Goerres (University of Duisburg-Essen) on "Living in Novaland: Can we Simulate the Experience of States, Economies and Public Policies in a Virtual Online State?"
  • 11 July 2023, 14 – 15.30: André Bächtiger (University of Stuttgart) on "Good and Ideal Democracy. How to Design It."
