Thomas Jäger is professor of International Politics and Foreign Policy. His research and teaching focus on the analysis of German and US foreign policy, the development of alliances and new players in the international system, as well as the interaction between media and international politics.

As an expert on US politics, Prof Jäger frequently appears on television programmes and forums such as the Deutsche Welle election blog, and he writes columns for Focus magazine. His Chair publishes the peer-reviewed journal Zeitschrift für Außen- und Sicherheitspolitik (ZfAS) (Journal of Foreign and Security Policy).
