Das Institut für Politikwissenschaft freut sich, zum Wintersemester 2019/20 Chitralekha Basu als Assistenzprofessorin begrüßen zu dürfen. Mit ihrer am CCCP angesiedelten Stelle wird sie das Profil des Instituts im Bereich Empirische Demokratietheorie erweitern. Frau Basu hat in Oxford, Cambridge und Rochester studiert und war vor ihrer Berufung nach Köln Postdoctoral Researcher in der Forschungsgruppe Institutionen und Politische Ökonomie an der Universität von Barcelona.

Kürzlich erhielt sie außerdem den James B. Christoph Award auf dem 115th APSA Annual Meeting & Exhibition in Washington, DC für den Artikel "Democratizing from Within: British Elites and the Expansion of the Franchise".

The Department of Political Science is happy to welcome Chitralekha Basu as Assistent Professor in the winter term 2019/20. She will be part of the CCCP and expands the profile of the department in the area of Empirical Democratic Theory. Ms Basu studied in Oxford, Cambridge and Rochester and before her call to Cologne was a postdoctoral researcher in the research group on Institutions and Political Economy at the University of Barcelona.
